About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Maya Henderson, and I am excited to share a little bit about my journey and what brought me here.

I live in Texas, and I’m currently studying Computer Science with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence. My dream is to one day become an AI programmer at a game company, where I can help create more immersive and dynamic game experiences.

Originally, I started out in the Game Development program because I have always loved the idea of making games for people to enjoy. But along the way, I realized that what fascinated me most was AI in games, the systems that bring characters and worlds to life. Games like Inzoi, The Sims, and Red Dead Redemption 2 really inspire me with their creative AI features, and I want to learn how to design similar dynamic systems that make each player’s experience unique.

That’s why I decided to switch from Game Development to focus on AI. I felt it was important to really dive deep into one area instead of spreading myself too thin. Plus, AI knowledge is valuable not only in gaming but also in many other industries, so I will have more opportunities to apply my skills in different ways.

My goal here is to learn how to create and integrate AI into games, whether it is making NPCs feel more realistic, designing adaptive gameplay, or developing features that make games feel alive. Even if I end up applying AI outside of gaming, I know this path will give me the skills I need to innovate and build exciting projects.

This journey so far has been interesting, and I’m looking forward to growing my knowledge, sharing what I learn, and connecting with others who are passionate about both AI and gaming.

Thanks for reading a little bit about me and I can’t wait to see where this path takes me!

My Skills

Some skills I have developed over the years.

Acheivements/Milestones

Things I have done that I am proud of.

Zero-Shot Email Classification

Designed and integrated a zero-shot NLP model to automatically categorize job-related emails with confidence scoring for improved accuracy.

Google API Integration

Implemented Google OAuth and Gmail API pipelines, enabling secure user authentication and real-time email data ingestion inside the application.

More Coming Soon

Continuing to expand my AI and software development projects with new tools, features, and experiments.

CI/CD

In my most recent project, I have minimal experience with Docker. I want to expand that and learn how to set it up from scratch and the in and outs of it.

Backend Systems & API Design

I want to deepen my understanding of scalable backend services and API development.

AI in Games

I want to start my own mini game project to learn how to integrate complex AI into games.

What I am Interested in Exploring Next

My Hobbies and Interests

My favorite Game

My all-time favorite game to revisit every year is Minecraft. It’s always fun to play with friends, and with all the mods available, it feels like a unique experience every time.

Favorite Music

My favorite songs change all the time, but there are a couple of artists whose new albums I always love—Laufey, with her jazz-pop and bossa nova-inspired music, and Conan Gray, who makes really great indie pop.

My Creative Hobbies

I love to paint, especially with gouache, and I usually do my own nails at home—sometimes with fun designs. I’m also currently learning how to sew, which has been a really fun new creative hobby.
